Surfing in Canada is not all about the east-coast and west-coast,river-surfing is were their is no ocean.
The traditional form of surfing is in the ocean with waves breaking on shore or reefs. As the river flows it goes over a hole it creates a rideable wave.
Conditions are best in the spring time, as rivers are usually full with the winter meltdown. You will need a wetsuit but some river surfing can go on in the middle of summer. I just have not found the right break. I hear Montreal is the place?
Below is the Ottawa river were I personnally have not surfed but seen a picture of a dude surfing in the local surf shop(Yes Ottawa has a surf shop, well kinda)
